Currently, Ron is a Strategy Consultant - Team Builder/Innovator/Motivational Speaker. Ron led the Clarion Men’s Basketball team for 26 years and had the most wins in the program’s rich history.

Having served as Head Coach at Wilkes University for two seasons, Righter has a 28 year collegiate head coaching record of 426-323. He has seven years of NCAA Division I assistant coaching experience under Hall of Fame inductee George Raveling at the University of Southern California, the University of Iowa, and Washington State University.

A native of Doylestown, PA, Righter graduated from Central Bucks West High School and accepted a full scholarship to Duke University playing basketball and baseball. After two seasons at Duke, he transferred to St. Joseph’s University of Philadelphia and helped lead his team to an NCAA tournament. His senior year at St. Joseph’s, Ron served as a team captain earning MVP Honors and graduated with a degree in Theology. Ron also holds a Master’s degree in Counseling Education from Lehigh University. After college, he played and coached in Luxembourg. Ron was inducted into the St. Joseph’s University’s Basketball Hall of Fame (1991); the Central Bucks West Hall of Fame (2002); the Pittsburgh Basketball Club Hall of Fame (2014); Bucks County Chapter of the Pennsylvania Sports Hall of Fame (2017).
In the summer of 1988, Righter was one of eight assistants helping the US Olympic coach John Thompson narrow down the US Olympic Basketball team at Colorado Springs. He coached in the former Yugoslavia for three weeks running the IBA clinic that included players throughout Europe. In the summer of 1994, Ron was selected by USA Basketball as an assistant coach at the United States Sports Festival in St. Louis, MO.
Ron has authored the book, Flex – the Total Offense and produced five basketball instructional videos/DVDs.
